Daniel is a Catholic priest, based out of the Vatican, who works to investigate claims of miracles. In his 14 years in this job, he has never authenticated a miracle. He gets called into his superior's office and is given the task of investigating claims of prophesy by Tim Trinity - who also happens to be Daniel's uncle.
Thankfully for one of the secret groups, Daniel has every intention of debunking Trinity's speaking in tongues and getting back "home" Rome as soon as possible. But Daniel throws a wrench in everyone's plans by discovering a cover up at the Vatican, and discovering that Trinity's tongues act is genuine.
Secret societies running the public's access to "the truth" make life difficult for Trinity - trying to make him be quiet through any means possible. Daniel agrees to keep his uncle safe for as long as possible so that Trinity can share what he believes is his message from God.
This is a good book for the drama and the suspense. I always love a good secret power/society book. The theology, and the ultimate message from God, I disagree with - but that may be my Lutheran-ness showing. Pretty good for a summer read though.
