Summer is also busy...

This past week has flown by.  I swear that summer moves just as fast as fall and spring!

Last week was filled with a ton of chores.  I think that every piece of clothing that I own was dirty and needed washing!  Then, of course, were dishes, trash and other general cleaning.

I took Daisy on a bunch of walks.  My husband has been having some nasty allergies, so it's been Pup and I for most of our walks.  Her stumpy legs have a hard time going over a mile - well, and the heat too - but she loves to go!

Speaking of Daisy, last night was the first glimpse of what our 4th of July will be this year.  The neighborhood kids were lighting firecrackers for most of the afternoon.  Then after dark they started lighting the bigger fireworks.  Super Corg came to visit us during the fireworks!  I don't know where Daisy went, but her friend Super Corg came to keep us company!!  ;-)

A whole shelf of food!
We spent some time the last 3 days cooking some meals to freeze for later.  With a pending surgery for our home chef (aka my husband) we wanted to get some stuff that would be really, really easy.  This past week we made and froze portions of home made pasta sauce, fried rice, curry casserole and penne casserole.  Since we did all that cooking, we had to clean the freezer too!  However, we now have a pile of easy meals with very little clean up.

This past Sunday our Praise Band sang at church.  We did the Bluegrass Liturgy (one of my faves) and picked/sang the hymns.  There is no rest for the Praise Band though - we are back into the rehearsal swing to prep for Praise in the Park on a Sunday in July and then our big "concert" at the Green Harvest Festival and the end of August.

In between all of that fun stuff, I have been getting caught up on movies and TV, along with reading.  Look for my blog review of Seizure, by Kathy Reichs here.

We are running full on into another week and another month of summer.  Whew!

I'm still here...

I know that I have been MIA for a while, but I have had a busy few weeks!  We have had some crazy weather this April...there has been a 1/2 day snow-day (out at 1pm) and today is a full day snow-day.  But we have also had weather in the 60s and low 70s with lots of sunshine.  Welcome to spring in Wyoming!!

There have been lots of family events and celebrations too.  My husband had his 32nd birthday.  My 30th birthday was last Saturday.  We have a ton of people in the family/friends who have April birthdays as well.  On top of that, our nephew was born on April 11th.

Then, of course, is the amazing 4-day vacation that we took to Las Vegas.  It was so much fun and I really, really, really enjoyed the 87 degree temps!

Now we are getting back into the rhythm of life.  It is good to be home and not have plans for traveling any time soon!!

Juggling

It is officially here - Juggling Season!  That's right guys.  It is the time of year when I don't get to spend nearly enough time at home with my husband and my puppy, relaxing, reading and watching movies.

It is the time of year when I attend many trainings and meetings, getting ready for testing season, and generally work a lot.

It is also the time of year when we have many things going on at church.  Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday.  This begins the season of Lent which has many more activities as we prepare to celebrate Jesus' resurrection at Easter.  This year we will have Wednesday evening soup meals and a short service together.  We are doing a new service for the vespers time and as part of the "band" I've been asked to be there and sing confidently.  On Sundays we will be doing a book study on C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters.  I've never read it, so I will be reading a couple of letters/chapters a week to prepare for the discussion on Sunday.

So the balls are all in my hands.  I've cleared some space.  It's time to throw them in the air and start juggling!
