1. Would you go to your high school reunion? Would go, did go, helped organize it...all I missed was getting the t-shirt!
2. What's something you've recently splurged on: either for yourself or for someone else? Hmmm...I'd say recently it has been Kindle books. In case you haven't noticed, I like to read....a lot! I have lately been buying whichever book or books I feel like reading at the time.
3. What is the nicest thing to happen to you lately? So Thursday we were coming in from lunch recess and some 6th graders were in a bit of trouble. I said something from down the hall to another teacher and she almost "corrected" me...she thought a sixth grader was being a smart alec...but no, just me!
4. Are you ready for spring/summer or are you longing for winter's return? I definitely say that I want spring weather. This past week has been gorgeous. Temps in the upper 60s. Very light breeze (and not a "Wyoming light breeze" either!). Sunshine. Perfect weather.
5. What is your current favorite song? Mama's Broken Heart by Miranda Lambert. I've been listening to it on repeat lately.

School's out for Summer....
Well, it's official. The 2010-2011 school year is over for me! The students were great, the teachers were welcoming and fun and we all worked VERY hard. It is bittersweet to close this school year, but I know the summer and next fall bring many new opportunities for everyone.
We ended the school year very eventfully though. After going back and forth we finally decided to go ahead with field day yesterday. The sun was out all morning, weather a good temperature and very little wind. The kids had a great time and did really well. We ended up having to go inside about a half hour early though because of a tornado! There was a funnel cloud about 6 miles from town that could be seen from our school. I personally did not see it, but apparently it made it about half way down to the ground before going back up. We ended our school year with a "Safe Shelter" time...all the students and staff in the interior halls. A few of the students didn't do so well, and since we don't practice the "Safe Shelter" alarms, it was a bit confusing. I thought I held it together, especially since tornadoes are my own personal weather torture, but according to one of my co-workers, I was a bit freaked out. In the end, we were all safe and very thankful to be safe. My thoughts and prayers are with those in the Midwest who have been affected by the tornadoes and have not been as lucky.
My plans for the summer are quite busy. I'm looking forward to my online class which begins on June 6th. We also have our first Obedience Class with Miss Daisy tonight. 6 weeks of training us will be good. Then of course there is workouts, volunteering at the library and reading all these books I've accumulated in the last couple of months.
Of course, there are some vacations and a "stay-cation" in the cards too. I'm going to SC to see Kelly (yeah!!!), going to visit family in July and then back down in August for my 10 year High School reunion (Go Panthers)! When we have our "stay-cation" in July we are going to finish up the bathrooms and get the house all spruced up.
But first things first. This week I have to work in the yard mowing, picking up and weeding. Thanks a million to the two students raising money for a school trip who helped me weed this week...it was a big job and they did great.
